Why this contest?
Over the past years, an active community of Romanian radio amateurs has grown across the diaspora (Europe, North America, Asia and beyond), and many would like to take part more often in Romanian-language contests.
Many traditional YO contests focus on 80m, where propagation is heavily dependent on time of day and season. For diaspora stations (especially at longer distances), 80m propagation often does not help the way it does for local/regional QSOs. Additionally, not everyone abroad has efficient 80m antennas.
A 12-hour daytime window is long enough for momentum and multipliers, but not as exhausting as 24/48-hour contests. It also makes participation possible from more parts of the world.
